Here's the recap from a busy day for Gospel Light Worship, as we led in three different buildings today, for two Sunday morning services and a multi-church baptism service in the evening.  It was also a day plagued by... gremlins!

First, to the Gospel Light setlist:

Opening:

Blessed Be Your Name (Redman/Redman)(G)

Main Set:

O Praise Him (All this for a King)(Crowder)(Bb)
Glory to God Forever (Beeching/Fee)(B)
How Great is Our God (Tomlin/Reeves/Cash)(C)
How He Loves (McMillan)(C)

Offering:

Montana (Gonzales/Gonzales/Gonzales)(Am)

We were joined today by three students from Zion Bible College, two wonderful female vocalists and a seriously amazing bassist.  Every song really seemed to speak to someone today, especially How He Loves.  We kept having to come back to it, and it was really a beautiful service with the best congregation ever.

We also served at Lighthouse Fellowship Church.

Montana(Gonzales/Gonzales/Gonzales)(Am)
Glory to God Forever(Beeching/Fee)(B)
Blessed Be Your Name (Redman/Redman)(C)
How Great is Our God  (Tomlin/Reeves/Cash)(C)

And finally, we had a two-church baptism tonight, with one of our church plants, Beacon of Light Fellowship Church.

Freedom (Bushard)B
For Who You Are (Sampson)(B)
Moving Forward (Houghton/Sanchez)(A)
I Have Decided to Follow Jesus (Singh)(E)
Gospel Medley (C)
You Are Good (Houghton)(E)
Again I Say Rejoice (Houghton)(E)

As I said, a busy day.  Now, about those gremlins.   After the service at GLCC, I tweeted:

Yeah, all that happened.  In the middle of the set at LHFC, the piano just went "zzzt!" and stopped working.  During the first song at GLCC, the channel went dead on the acoustic.  No biggie - I could play electric the rest of the set.  Until a string broke during "How Great..."   So I plugged the acoustic into the electric chain, and bypassed everything.   That got me through one song, until the acoustic went "zzzt!"  and went dead.   So I dropped my mic boom to waist height and went old-school.   A couple of people told me later they didn't even realize I was having trouble, so I guess that's a good thing.

Sometimes, all you can do is sit back and watch God take over.  That was what today was like.   Rehearsal got out of the gate a little rough, but by the time we were done, things were moving along.  We had all kinds of monitor issues; it seemed someone had gotten to the board and messed up all the settings for some reason, so it took us awhile to get it all right again.

We usually pray together after rehearsal.  Today was really an awesome time of prayer, and then some spontaneous, private worship as a team.   I became aware of people standing in the sanctuary doorway as we stood in a circle in front of the altar, singing together, and I hope it was a good example.

As for the set, here it goes:

Opening:

Great is Thy Faithfulness (Chisolm)(E)

Main Set:

Your Name High (Houston)(A)
Freedom (Bushard)(B)
Hungry (Scott)(C)
Hosanna (Fraser)(E)

Offering:

Saved By Grace (Houghton/Lindsey/Johnson)(Bb)

In a word, it was off the hook.  Daniel seemed so uncomfortable in rehearsal singing "Your Name High," but in service he seemed right at home.  By "Freedom" we had a group of people who had come up to the front and were just completely letting go, dancing, shouting, raising hands.   We threw in unplanned solos, guitar then piano, as well, and extended the song long enough to give Eddie James a run for his money.

"Saved by Grace" is a song we've been working on for a couple of weeks.  It seemed to go over pretty well, and I look forward to getting more comfortable with it.

You probably know (or at least I hope you do) that I didn't post a worship recap last week.   Last weekend was my wife's birthday, and we went away for a quiet weekend.  I recommend that every married couple do that from time to time.

It seemed odd not being in church on a Sunday, but today made up for it. We had great services at both churches this morning.  Our bishop was visiting at Gospel Light, which is always a pleasure, and always encouraging to hear him speak.

Todays setlists at GLCC:

Opening:

God of Wonders (Byrd/Hindalong)(G)

Main Set:

Happy Day (Hughes/Cantelon)(C)
You Are Good (Houghton)(G)
Our God (Tomlin/Reeves/Myrin/Redman)(B)
Healer (Guglielmucci)(B)

Offering:

Let it Rise (Davis)(E)

Kudos to sound - things were sounding good today.  "Happy Day" is such a great song to start a service.   I love the energy of that song, along with the message.  We played the bridge of "Our God" right into the chorus of "Healer," which sound weird, but worked really well.

"Let it Rise" is a great Holland Davis tune that we haven't done in awhile.  We did an extended outro to it, based around a E-F#m-A-B progression.

We also led at Lighthouse Fellowship Church today.  Our set there was:

Happy Day (Hughes/Cantelon)(C)
Let it Rise (Davis)(E)
God of Wonders (Byrd/Hindalong)
Power of Your Love (Bullock)(G)

Yeah, you read that right.  We got all Maranatha at the end there.
