What a great day!
Every once in a while, a Sunday really stands out. Yesterday was one of those days. It began with a great time of worship. We put a little different groove to Praise Adonai which really started the service off great.
We had four of our children went up to Spruce Lake Wilderness Camp in the Poconos last week. They came back (as always) really fired up and excited. They shared three songs with the congregation that they had learned at camp. One of the songs involved - get this - a conga line snaking through the sanctuary! There is something refreshing about the excitement of youth finding joy in the Lord without the conventions of propriety to worry about.
We were also blessed with a visit from Pivot Ministries, which is a Christ-centered program for men dealing with bondages. We've been partnering with Pivot for a couple of years now, and I still think we get the better end of the deal. The choir sung several songs (and man, are they good) and Pastor Dave Smith preached a powerful message on choices and consequenses. Wow. What a blessing. I don't mean to ramble, but I just wanted to share.
