Sunday Setlist- August 10
Formerly in this space, Worship Confessional.
This is part of Fred McKinnon's ongoing worship blog carnival, where worship leaders from around the blogsphere share their thoughs on that weeks worship. It's interesting to see what other churches are doing.
Our setlist this week.
Take Me In (kind of a cross between a traditional arrangement and Kutless)
Holy,Holy, Holy. (Gary Oliver)
Praise Adonai (Paul Baloche)
Ancient of Days (Gary Sadler/Jamie Harvill)
Awesome God (Rich Mullins)
The Stand (Hillsong/Joel Houston)
Give Thanks (Henry Smith)
We did Praise Adonai a little different this week. We started with Justin playing the verse on a string pad on the keyboard. It set a nice mood, and was very ethereal. Then I came in on the guitar, bringing the volume up slowly, using a lot of chorus and delay. Gradually bass and drums came in. It was a nice approach, I thought, and really filled up all the sonic space in the song. I had more fun playing it than I have in a while, and I love that song!
We did The Stand for the second week, as it is a new song for us. Everyone was a lot more into it. With several team members on vacations, others had to step up and sing the various verses, so hats off to everyone for doing a great job.

Mike,
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a part of Sunday setlist and showing what you guys are doing. Cool idea about PRaise Adonai - I love that song. Sometimes a fresh new arrangement can do wonders for a song!
For the Kingdom,
Fred McKinnon
